Illinois Football Recruiting: Nebraska and Virginia Tech Offer Montae Nicholson

2014 defensive back/wide receiver Montae Nicholson received offers from the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Virginia Tech Hokies on March 1st. This brings his total number of offers to seventeen.

The other teams that have offered at him include: Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Florida State, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Temple, Texas Tech, Toledo, and West Virginia.

He has not received offers, but is receiving interest from the Michigan State Spartans and the Wisconsin Badgers.

Nicholson is a 6’3″, 200 pound safety from Monroeville, Pennsylvania. He is currently a junior at Gateway High School.

The Gateway Gators finished the season with an overall record of 9-2 and a league record of 8-0.

As a defensive back, Nicholson recorded 28 tackles, two interceptions (both returned for touchdowns), two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. As a wide receiver, he caught 25 passes for 653 yards and six touchdowns.

Nicholson is being recruited by Sal Sunsri of Florida State, Greg Gattuso of Maryland, Charles London of Penn State, Jason Candle of Toledo, Torrian Gray of Virginia Tech, and Tony Gibson of West Virginia.

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 3rd in the state of Pennsylvania, 14th among safeties, and 186th nationally among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
