2014 strong-side defensive tackle Gelen Robinson received an offer from the Minnesota Golden Gophers on March 1st. This brings his total number of offers to three.
The other two teams to offer at him are the Illinois Fighting Illini and the Purdue Boilermakers.
He has not received offers, but is receiving interest from the Arizona Wildcats, the Indiana Hoosiers, the Michigan Wolverines, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Robinson is a 6’2″, 232 pound defensive tackle from Saint John, Indiana. He is currently a junior at Lake Central High School.
The Lake Central Indians made it to the Class 5A Indiana State Playoffs. They would lose to Crown Point High School, 14-21.
As a junior in 2012, Robinson recorded 95 tackles, 47 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, and five forced fumbles. Over his entire high school career, he has recorded 265 tackles, 120 tackles for loss, 35 sacks, five pass break-ups, eleven forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries.
For Illinois, Robinson is being recruited by linebackers coach, Mike Ward. He has also made two visits to Illinois already with one of his two visits being Illinois’ Junior Day.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 9th in the state of Indiana and 28th among strong-side defensive ends by 247Sports.
