Football Recruiting: Vontae Diggs Visits Illinois

2014 outside linebacker Vontae Diggs unofficially visited the Illinois Fighting Illini on March 2nd. This was his second trip to Champaign as he attended the team’s Junior Day on January 26th. He has also visited the Indiana Hoosiers for their Junior Day on January 27th.

The only team to offer at Diggs so far is the Toledo Rockets.

Although, he has not received offers, but is receiving interest from the Illinois Fighting Illini, the Indiana Hoosiers, the Michigan Wolverines, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Vontae Diggs is a 6’4″, 200 pound outside linebacker from Downers Grove, Illinois.

He is currently a junior at Downers Grove North High School.

The Downers Grove North Trojans made it to the quarterfinals of the Class 7A Illinois State Playoffs. However, they lost to Benet Academy, 24-26.

As a junior in 2012, Diggs recorded sixteen tackles-for-loss and six sacks.

For Illinois, he is being recruited by linebacker coach, Mike Ward. He is also being recruited by Mark Hagen of Indiana, and Louis Ayeni of Toledo.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 28th in the state of Illinois and 60th among outside linebackers by 247Sports.
