Illinois Football Recruiting: Kansas State, Arkansas, Arizona, and 2 Others Offer Poona Ford


2014 defensive tackle Poona Ford received offers from the Kansas State Wildcats, the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Arizona Wildcats, the Purdue Boilermakers, and the Louisville Cardinals on February 22nd, February 25th, and February 26th. This brings his total number of offers to eleven.

The other teams to have offered at him include: South Carolina, Marshall, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Toledo, and Missouri.

Although, Ford has named the South Carolina Gamecocks as his favorite.

Ford is a 6’1″, 280 pound defensive tackle from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He is currently a junior at Hilton Head High School.

The Hilton Head Seahawks made it to the Class AAA South Carolina State Playoff. However, they lost to Strom Thurmond High School in the first round, 62-20.

Poona Ford recorded 154 tackles and 44 tackles for loss during his junior season.

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 9th in the state of South Carolina and 21st among defensive tackles of 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.

Ford has two unofficial visits set for this upcoming weekend. He will visit the Tennessee Volunteers on March 2nd and will visit the North Carolina Tar Heels on March 3rd.
