Illinois Basketball Recruiting: Elgin Cook Visits Oregon

2013 small forward Elgin Cook officially visited the Oregon Ducks on February 21st.

Cook has offers from twelve teams. The teams to have offered at him include: Gonzaga, Oregon, Arkansas, Illinois, New Mexico, South Carolina, TCU, VCU, Auburn, Mississippi State, Murray State, and Washington.

Out of his twelve offers, it is projected that Cook is heavily interested in the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Oregon Ducks.

Cook is a 6’6″, 215 pound small forward from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He played his high school ball at Hamilton High School.

He is currently playing basketball at Northwest Florida State College. The Northwest Florida State Raiders went 25-2 this season and will start their conference tournament on March 7th.

As a freshman this season, Cook is averaging 15.0 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game, 1.4 steals per game, and 1.1 blocks per game.

According to ESPN, Cook “likes to play out on the perimeter, but can go inside if he needs too” and “is very hard to guard on the perimeter because of his ball-handling ability.”

Cook is listed as a three-star recruit, but does not have any rankings by 247Sports.

Cook will officially visit the Gonzaga Bulldogs on February 23rd.
