The Illinois Fighting Illini signed their twelfth commit on National Signing Day, Marchie Murdock. Murdock is a three-star recruit by ESPN and 247 Sports. He is also ranked 272nd in the state of Texas and 2214th among wide receivers by 247 Sports.
Murdock committed to Illinois on December 9th, 2012. He officially visited the Illini on December 7th. He chose the Illini over Colorado State, Navy, and San Diego State. It was wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales who earned Murdock’s pledge.
Marchie Murdock played his high school ball at Mansfield Legacy High School in Mansfield, Texas. Murdock caught 49 passes for 770 yards and 13 touchdowns during his senior season at Mansfield Legacy. He runs a 4.78 40-yard dash, a 4.50 20-yard shuttle, and has a 33.3 vertical jump. (Source: ESPN)
Out of all fifteen signees for Illinois, Murdock was the twelfth commit to fax in his Letter of Intent. He is one of two wide receivers to sign with the Illini on NSD.
