Indiana Football Recruiting: Illinois Offers Gelen Robinson

2014 strong-side defensive tackle Gelen Robinson received an offer from the Illinois Fighting Illini on January 27th. This was just one day after Robinson visited Illinois’ Junior Day on January 26th.

The Illinois Fighting Illini are the first team to have offered at Robinson. He is being recruited by Mike Ward.

Robinson is a 6’2″, 232 pound defensive tackle from Saint John, Indiana. He is currently a junior at Lake Central High School.

The Lake Central Indians made it to the Class 5A Indiana State Playoffs, but lost to Crown Point High School, 14-21.

As a junior in 2012, Robinson recorded 95 tackles, 47 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, and five forced fumbles. Over his entire high school career, he has recorded 265 tackles, 120 tackles for loss, 35 sacks, five pass break-ups, eleven forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 7th in the state of Indiana and 20th among strong-side defensive ends by 247Sports.
