2014 shooting guard Jaquan Lyle unofficially visited the Illinois Fighting Illini on January 27th. He was at Illinois to watch their game against #2 Michigan. Illinois lost to Michigan, 60-74.
Lyle has offers from eighteen teams. These teams include: Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Georgetown, North Carolina State, Tennessee, Texas, Iowa, Memphis, Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Providence, Purdue, Wake Forest, and Xavier.
Although, he has stated that he has cut his options down to eleven teams. It is projected that he is heavily interested in Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, and Ohio State.
Lyle is a 6’5″, 190 pound shooting guard from Evansville, Indiana. He plays at Bosse High School.
The Boosse Bulldogs are currently 11-3 this season. They defeated Boonville High School, 82-68, in their last game. In that game, Lyle almost had a triple-double as he recorded 21 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.
Jaquan is a very skilled guard. His biggest skills are his ability to get into the lane, the range on his shot (up to 19 feet), and his excellent court vision.
Even though he is listed as a shooting guard, Lyle has stated that he wants to play the point in college. He says that Bruce Weber recruited him as a combo guard, but head coach John Groce has said he will recruit him as a point guard.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 2nd in the state of Indiana, 6th among shooting guards, and 18th nationally among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
