Illinois Football Recruiting: Joshua Jones Visits North Carolina State

2013 safety Joshua Jones officially visited the North Carolina State Wolfpack on January 25th.

Jones originally committed to the Illini on June 29th, 2012, but decommitted on January 17th, 2013.

He has offers from nine teams. Besides Illinois, the other teams are Pittsburgh, North Carolina State, Colorado, Ball State, Central Michigan, Iowa, Toledo, and Western Michigan.

Out of those nine offers, Jones is projected to be heavily interested in the Colorado Buffaloes and the Pittsburgh Panthers.

Jones is a 6’2″, 200 pound safety from Walled Lake, Michigan. He played this past season at Walled Lake Western High School.

Walled Lake Western made it to the quarterfinals of the Division 2 Michigan State Playoffs.

However, they lost to eventual state champion, Brother Rice, 12-42.

As a senior in 2012, Jones recorded 95 tackles and five interceptions.

The two-star recruit is currently ranked 41st in the state of Michigan and 159th among safeties by 247Sports.
