Illinois Football Recruiting: Arkansas Visits Alex Collins

Arkansas’ defensive line coach Charlie Partridge and running backs coach Joel Thomas visited 2013 recruit Alex Collins on January 23rd.

Collins has offers from ten teams. These teams include: Arkansas, Miami (FL), Florida, Florida State, Wisconsin, Ball State, Boston College, Bowling Green, Louisville, and South Florida.

Out of those ten offers, it is projected that Collins is heavily interested in Arkansas and Miami (FL).

Collins is a 5’11″, 204 pound all purpose running back from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

He played this past season at South Plantation High School.

South Plantation made it into the Class 8A Florida State Playoffs. They lost to Miramar High School, 0-3, in the first round.

Collins’ biggest strengths are his elusiveness, his vision, and his hands. He is a quick and speedy back that is very smooth. The biggest concern some have is his size. Even though Collins is smaller, he is still a very strong running back.

The five-star recruit is currently ranked 5th in the state of Florida, 1st among running backs, and 17th nationally among 2013 high school recruits by 247Sports.

Collins has a scheduled official visit set for January 25th with the Arkansas Razorbacks.
