Western Michigan Football Recruiting: Jaylen Dunlap Commits to Illinois

2013 cornerback Jaylen Dunlap committed to the Illinois Fighting Illini on January 21st. Dunlap officially visited the Illini on January 18th.

He had offers from four teams. These teams include: Illinois, Eastern Michigan, UAB, and Western Michigan.

Dunlap is a 6’2″, 170 pound defensive back from Crete, Illinois. He played this past season at Crete-Monee High School.

Crete-Monee won the state championship in the Class 6A Illinois State Playoffs. In the title game, Crete-Monee defeated Cary-Grove, 33-26.

The biggest skill that Dunlap will bring to the Fighting Illini is his skill in zone coverage. One positive is his positioning in pass defense and run support. However, some believe that Dunlap will need to add some size to his 6’2″, 170 pound frame at the college level.

There are no rankings for this recruit by 247Sports.
