Colorado Football Recruiting: Joshua Jones Decommits From Illinois

2013 safety Joshua Jones decommitted from the Illinois Fighting Illini on January 17th.

He originally committed to the Illini on June 29th, 2012, but has not signed his letter of intent. He has offers from nine teams. Besides Illinois, the other teams are Pittsburgh, North Carolina State, Colorado, Ball State, Central Michigan, Iowa, Toledo, and Western Michigan.

Illinois now has 19 hard commits and five players have signed their letters of intent for the Fighting Illini.

Jones is a 6’2″, 200 pound safety from Walled Lake, Michigan. He played this past season at Walled Lake Western High School.

Walled Lake Western made it to the quarterfinals of the Division 2 Michigan State Playoffs. However, they lost to eventual state champion, Brother Rice, 12-42.

As a senior in 2012, Jones recorded 95 tackles and five interceptions.

The two-star recruit is currently ranked 41st in the state of Michigan and 159th among safeties by 247Sports.
