Illinois Football Recruiting: Urban Meyer and Three Other Coaches Visit Jamarco Jones


2014 offensive tackle Jamarco Jones received attention from four big football programs this week. On January 15th and 16th, Urban Meyer from Ohio State, Mark Dantonio from Michigan State, Gary Andersen from Wisconsin, and Chuck Martin from Notre Dame all visited Jones in Chicago, Illinois.

Jones has offers from sixteen teams. These teams include: Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Purdue, Toledo, Vanderbilt, and Wisconsin.

Jones is a 6’6″, 290 pound from Chicago, Illinois. He played this past season at De La Salle Institute.

De La Salle Institute finished with a record of 4-5 overall and 4th in the Chicago Catholic – White. They did not make the Illinois State Playoffs.

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 2nd in the state of Illinois, 4th among offensive tackles, and 47th nationally among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
