Jones committed to Illinois on June 29th, 2012, but has not signed his letter of intent. He has offers from nine teams. Besides Illinois, the other teams are Pittsburgh, North Carolina State, Colorado, Ball State, Central Michigan, Iowa, Toledo, and Western Michigan.

He is a 6’2″, 200 pound safety from Walled Lake, Michigan. He played this past season at Walled Lake Western High School.

Walled Lake Western made it to the quarterfinals of the Division 2 Michigan State Playoffs. However, they lost to eventual state champion, Brother Rice, 12-42.
