Iowa Football Recruiting: Iowa State’s Paul Rhoads Visits Jay Scheel

On January 11th, Iowa State’s head coach, Paul Rhoads, traveled to La Porte City, Iowa to visit Jay Scheel.

Scheel has offers from four teams. These teams include: Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, and Nebraska.

Scheel is a 6’1″, 170 pound athlete from La Porte City, Iowa. He played this past season at Union High School.

Union made it into the Class 2A Iowa State Playoffs. They lost in the second round to Waukon High School, 14-21.

Scheel played both quarterback and running back. In 2012, he recorded 1,593 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, and seven interceptions as a quaterback while recording 1,291 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns as a running back.

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 3rd in the state of Iowa and 29th among athletes by 247Sports.
