Illinois Fighting Illini in the NFL: Wild Card Weekend

Only six former Illinois Fighting Illini players made it to the NFL Playoffs.

In the Wild Card round, there were four games and here is how Illinois’ former players fared.

Alan Ball, CB, Houston Texans - Ball was listed as probable for Houston’s Wild Card playoff game. He recorded three tackles in the win.

Brandon Lloyd, WR, New England Patriots - Lloyd and the New England Patriots had a first round bye and will play the Houston Texans next week.

Whitney Mercilus, DE, Houston Texans – Mercilus did not record a single stat in the team’s playoff win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

A.J. Jenkins, WR, San Francisco 49ers – Jenkins and the San Francisco 49ers had a first round bye and will play the Green Bay Packers next week.

Vontae Davis, CB, Indianapolis Colts – Davis did not record a single tackle, but defended three passes in the Colts’ playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Tavon Wilson, FS, New England Patriots - Wilson and the New England Patriots had a first round bye and will play the Houston Texans next week.
