Illinois Fighting Illini in the NFL: Week 15

Week 15 of the NFL season concluded with an AFC match-up between the New York Jets and the Tennessee Titans.

Here is how some of Illinois’ former players fared during this week.

Kelvin Hayden, CB, Chicago Bears – The Chicago Bears lost their third straight game as they fell to the Green Bay Packer, 21-13. Hayden combined on six tackles as he had four tackles and two assisted tackles.

Josh Brent, DT, Dallas Cowboys - Brent was still inactive for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but was on the sideline.

Brandon Lloyd, WR, New England Patriots - Lloyd was targeted sixteen times by Tom Brady on Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers. However, he only caught ten passes 190 yards.

Vontae Davis, CB, Indianapolis Colts – Davis recorded nine total tackles in the Indianapolis Colts’ loss to the Houston Texans, 29-17.

Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers – Mendenhall was inactive for the game against the Dallas Cowboys, but was reinstated from the Reserved/Suspended List on Monday.

Corey Liuget, DE, San Diego Chargers – The San Diego Chargers lost to the Carolina Panthers, but Liuget recorded four tackles, one assisted tackle, and one stuff.

Arrelious Benn, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Benn did not play against the New Orleans Saints this weekend. He is on the IR due to a shoulder injury.

Brandon Moore, OG, New York Jets - Moore and the rest of the Jets offensive line had a tough time against the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football. Mark Sanchez was sacked a total of three times for 22 yards while Tim Tebow was sacked once for two yards.

Jeff Cumberland, TE, New York Jets – Cumberlands was targeted nine times by Mark Sanchez, but only caught four passes. He recorded 53 receiving yards and scored one touchdown.

 

Mikel Leshoure, RB, Detroit Lions – Mikel Leshoure ran for 55 yards on 14 carries and scored one touchdown. He also caught two passes for four yards.

Pierre Thomas, RB, New Orleans Saints– Thomas ran for 13 yards on four carries with no touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 26 yards.

 

A.J. Jenkins, WR, San Francisco 49ers – Jenkins suited up for Sunday Night Football, but still has not hauled in his first career reception.

Martez Wilson, LB, New Orleans Saints – Wilson only recorded one tackle in the 41-0 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Dave Diehl, OT, New York Giants – Even though the New York Giants did not score this week in Atlanta, Dave Diehl and the rest of the Giants offensive line blocked well for Eli Manning. Manning was only sacked once for two yards.

Steve Weatherford, P, New York Giants – Weatherford punted the ball two times for 110 yards in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Whitney Mercilus, DE, Houston Texans – Mercilus only recorded one tackle in the 29-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Alan Ball, CB, Houston Texans - Ball did not play Sunday against the Colts due to a foot injury.

Tavon Wilson, FS, New England Patriots - Wilson did not recorded a single tackle in Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
