Illinois Basketball Recruiting: Kentucky Visits Cliff Alexander

2014 power forward Cliff Alexander received attention from a big name SEC basketball force. On December 15th, Kentucky’s head coach John Calipari traveled to Indianapolis to see Alexander in action. He plays his high school ball at Curie High School in Chicago, Illinois.

The Curie five-star recruit played against Indianapolis Tech on December 15th.

Curie lost the game 73-51 and Indianapolis Tech led 49-22 at halftime. Alexander had 18 points and five rebounds.

This seemed to be an off-night for Curie High School and Alexander.

In their previous game on December 13th, Alexander had 27 points, 16 rebounds, and five blocks in the team’s 66-59 double overtime win over Hyde Park.

Currently, Alexander has offers from twenty-one teams. Teams that have offered at him include: Kentucky, Michigan State, Arizona, Baylor, Connecticut, DePaul, Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Providence, SMU, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

The five-star recruit is currently ranked 2nd in the state of Illinois, 4th among power forwards, and 12th nationally by 247Sports.
