2013 defensive tackle Kenton Gibbs visited the Illinois Fighting Illini this weekend. This will be his first visit to Champaign since decommitting from Illinois on August 31st.
Gibbs currently has offers from nine teams. It is projected that Cincinnati, Illinois, Pittsburgh, and Wisconsin are at the head of the pack.
Teams that have offered at him include: Cincinnati, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, Indiana, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, and Toledo.
Gibbs is a 6’3″, 290 pound defensive tackle from Detroit, Michigan.
He played this past season at Cass Technical. He has recorded 25 tackles for loss and 31 sacks this season.
Cass Technical made it to the the state championship of the Division I Michigan State Playoffs. They defeated Catholic Central High School 36-21.
His biggest positive is his height and solid bulk. He also has a nice initial burst, but lacks consistency.
The three-star defensive is ranked 21st in the state of Michigan, 67th among defensive tackles, and 134th in the Midwest region by ESPN.
