A day after Nick Ramirez committed, the Kansas State Wildcats received another big commitment from one of Ramirez’s high school teammates. On Friday, Jamone Boyd committed to Kansas State. He choose the Wildcats over offers from Illinois, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Tennessee, and Washington State.
Boyd is a 6’4″, 265 pound strong-side defensive end from Lees Summit, Missouri. He played this past season at Lee’s Summit West High School.
Lee’s Summit West made it to the Class 5A Missouri State playoffs and earned a first round bye.
However, they made it to the quarterfinals, but lost to Ozark High School, 23-26.
He is highly-regarded for his strength and disruptiveness as a defensive end.
The four-star linebacker is ranked 2nd in the state of Missouri, 16th among defensive ends, and 28th in the Midlands region by ESPN. He is also 193rd in ESPN’s top 300.
Kansas State has 17 commitments from the class of 2013.
