After his visit to Ohio State, Donovan Munger decided to verbally commit with the Buckeyes on Sunday. The 2013 defensive tackle/offensive guard had offers from twenty-nine teams. The only two teams that Munger visited this season were Ohio State and UCLA.
Teams that had offered at Munger included: Ohio State, Akron, Auburn, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota, North Carolina State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Tennessee, UCLA, Washington, and West Virginia.
Munger is from Cleveland, Ohio and played for Shaker Heights High School this past season. He started on both the defensive and offensive line for Shaker Heights, but OSU recruited him on defense.
The four-star recruit is ranked 15th in the state of Ohio and 18th among defensive tackles by 247Sports. He is ranked 283rd on ESPN’s top 300. Munger has great strength and is strong defensively against the run.
According to ESPN, Donovan Munger is “a big man who shows some good potential,” but “could benefit from reworking his body composition.”
The Buckeyes now have 19 commitments from the class of 2013.
