2013 defensive tackle Kenton Gibbs will be visiting the Pittsburgh Panthers this weekend. This will be his first visit since decommitting from Illinois on August 31st. Gibbs attended Pittsburgh’s camp in June of this year.
Gibbs currently has offers from nine teams. It is projected that Cincinnati, Illinois, Pittsburgh, and Wisconsin are at the head of the pack.
Teams that have offered at him include: Cincinnati, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, Indiana, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, and Toledo.
Kenton Gibbs played for Cass Technical in Detroit, Michigan this season. Over his time at Cass Technical, he has recorded 25 tackles for loss and 31 sacks.
In the state championship, he returned a fumble 57 yards for a touchdown. Cass Technical defeated Novi Catholic Central 36-21.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 15th in the state of Michigan, 61st among defensive tackles, but not ranked nationally in the top 247 among high school recruits by 247Sports.
Kenton Gibbs’ biggest positive is his height and solid bulk. He is 6’3″, 290 pounds, but may be a little taller than listed. He has a nice initial burst, but lacks consistency.
