2013 defensive tackle/tight end Josh Augusta is receiving some attention from three NCAA Division I teams. Three schools will have coaches visiting Augusta and one of the teams is Ole Miss. Augusta recently officially visited Ole Miss as the Rebels defeated Mississippi State 41-24.
The other two schools to have coaches visiting Augusta this week are Missouri and Michigan State.
The first coach to visit the Illinois recruit on November 26th was Cornell Ford from the Missouri Tigers. Ford is the Tigers’ cornerbacks coach of twelve years. However, he does had recruiting experience and was Toledo’s recruiting coordinator in 1996. He also helps the Tigers with recruits from St. Louis and Illinois.
According to mutigers.com, “Ford is also the Tigers’ chief recruiter in St. Louis, where he has signed some of the very best players in the state.”
The second coach to visit on November 27th was Chris Kiffin of Ole Miss. Kiffin is the Rebels’ defensive lines coach, but is also their recruiting coordinator for defense. He is in his first season at Ole Miss. He is the younger brother of USC head coach Lane Kiffin and son of USC assistant head coach Monte Kiffin.
The last coach that will visiting Augusta on November 28th is Dan Roushar of Michigan State. Roushar is in his sixth season as MSU’s offensive coordinator. He was once the offensive coordinator for the Fighting Illini in 2004. Roushar also held jobs at Ball State, Northern Illinois, and Butler.
The Peoria High School star is a four-star recruit. He is ranked 8th in the state of Illinois, 12th among defensive tackles, and 190th overall by 247Sports. The 6’5″, 295 pound recruit is interested in four teams consisting of Missouri, Michigan State, Illinois, and Ole Miss. Missouri is Augusta’s favorite.
Augusta is set to officially visit Illinois on January 18th, 2013.
