Illinois’ Draft Drought Continues

For the 6th straight year no Illinois player was selected in the two rounds of the NBA draft.

None of the three former Illini who entered their name in the NBA draft were selected in yesterdays draft.  Demetri McCamey, Mike Davis and Jereme Richmond were not selected in the NBA draft Thursday. Despite not being selected, all three are expected to attend one or more training camps for NBA teams, and careers in the European leagues are also a possibility.

Five Big Ten players were picked, but only one, Purdue’s JaJuan Johnson by New Jersey, was selected in the first round. Johnson was later traded to Boston, which also picked fellow Boilermaker E’Twaun Moore with the 55th pick.
