Former Illinois receiver Arrelious "Rejus" Benn (#17) had his first game of more than 100 receiving yards on Sunday as his Tampa Bay Buccaneers knocked off the Washington Redskins 17-16.

Pro-Style Pigskins: Week 14 Edition of Illinois Fighting Illini in the NFL

Here is the week 14 recap of former Illini in the NFL.

Wide Receiver Arrelious Benn

Benn had a career best game against the Redskins, recording his first 100+ yards receiving performance. The rookie caught 4 passes for 122 yards and rushed for another 17. Benn has been in a battle with fellow rookie Mike Williams for playing time, and he solidified his resume with this performance.

Running Back Rashard Mendenhall

Mendenhall had 66 yards on the ground and another 9 through the air as the Steelers steamrolled the Bengals to notch another division win.

Running Back Pierre Thomas vs. Tight End Michael Hoomanawanui and Linebacker Brit Miller

Thomas was held to 39 yards on the ground and 29 yards receiving, but it didn’t matter as the Saints rolled.

Hoomanawanui did not play in this game.

Miller recorded one tackle on special teams.

Linebacker Will Davis vs. Wide Receiver Brandon Lloyd

Davis is out for the season with a broken leg.

Lloyd had an uncharacteristically poor performance, with only 32 yards receiving, his second worst output of the season.

Cornerback Vontae Davis vs. Punter Steve Weatherford, Offensive Lineman Brandon Moore and Tight End Jeff Cumberland

Davis had a solid game. He only had one tackle, but he had two pass deflections and the Jets rarely threw to his man.

Weatherford had 6 of his 8 punts downed inside the 20.

Moore and the rest of the offensive line struggled, giving up 6 sacks and allowing only 87 total yards rushing.

Cumberland is a backup tight end and did not play.

Cornerback Alan Ball and Defensive Lineman Josh Brent

Ball had 3 tackles for the Cowboys while Brent did not make the box score.

Offensive Lineman David Diehl vs. Wide Receiver Greg Lewis

Diehl and the offensive line did a good job protecting and blocking, giving up only one sack and paving the way for 213 rushing yards.

Lewis had two receptions for 13 yards.

Kicker Neil Rackers and Safety Eugene Wilson

Rackers made two PATs and two of three field goals.

Wilson was out with an injury but is expected to return next week.

That’s all for this week.

Until next time.
