Daily Deron: Williams, Jazz Get Big Lift from C.J. Miles to Defeat Blazers

Utah's Deron Williams drives and dishes on Portland's Nicholas Batum, LaMarcus Aldridge and Marcus Camby on Saturday night.

Down 9 points entering the fourth quarter, the Utah Jazz outscored the Portland Trail Blazers by 18 points in the final 12 minutes to earn another comeback road victory on Saturday night.

With Deron Williams dealing with a tweaked ankle, C.J. Miles provided a huge lift off the bench, hitting 7 threes and scoring 25 points.

Here’s a look at Williams’ night in Rip City, where he faced former Utah teammate Wesley Matthews.

Utah Jazz Point Guard Deron Williams (2002-2005)

The Jazz improved to 9-5 with the 103-94 road victory against the Blazers, which fell to 8-6.

12 points (3-13 shooting, 0-1 from three, 6-6 from free throw line), 2 rebounds, 11 assists, 5 turnovers, 3 steals and 2 fouls in 37:04.

Former Illini Brian Cook was also in action Saturday  night.

Los Angeles Clippers Forward Brian Cook (1999-2003)

Despite 44 points from Blake Griffin, the Clippers fell to 1-13 with a 124-115 loss to the New York Knicks, which improved to 6-8.

9 points (3-7 shooting, 3-4 from three), 2 rebounds, 1 assists and 4 fouls in 21:41.
