Signed, Sealed & Faxed: Abrams, Egwu, Henry and Shaw Sign Illini LOIs

With four seniors departing after the 2010-2011 basketball season, Illinois has four Chicago-area players heading to Champaign-Urbana.

It’s official.

The Illinois basketball program received signed letters of intent from Mount Carmel’s Tracy Abrams, St. Ignatius’ Nnanna Egwu, Orr’s Mycheal Henry and De La Salle’s Mike Shaw earlier this afternoon.

Congratulations to these future Illini and the Illinois coaching staff and players on a great job recruiting.

Of course, Illinois would love to add one more player to its 2011 recruiting class, Alabama prep guard Devin Langford.

We shall see what happens with Langord, who will likely make a decision in the spring.

Whatever the case, Illinois basketball locked up another solid recruiting class, with all four signed players from the Chicago area, a reflection of how head coach Bruce Weber and company have done a bang-up job in the city in the last five years.
